Amaris Allan, MD

Family Medicine Physician, Fifth Street Site Medical Director

Amaris Allan, MD joined Esperanza Health Center in 2013 as a Family Medicine Physician, and now also serves as Esperanza’s Fifth Street Site Medical Director. She and her husband Stuart, who is Esperanza’s Director of Information Technology, live in North Philadelphia. Dr. Allan enjoys four-part harmony, reading in biblical studies and fantasy, gardening, good conversations and caring for her daughter. She seeks to integrate her faith into her medical practice in the supportive environment at Esperanza.

 

Katie Baker, CRNP, MSN

Family Nurse Practitioner

Katie Baker, CRNP, MSN is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Health Center. Originally from Delaware, Ms. Baker received her graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and previously worked as a medical oncology-hematology nurse at Christiana Hospital. She volunteered for Esperanza during the summer of 2006 and was incredibly impressed by the high quality care that patients receive and the way that the entire staff whole-heartedly follows Christ and shares his love with the community. Ms. Baker sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

Leslie Book, LCSW

Director of Behavioral Health and Pastoral Care

Leslie (Les) Book, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Director of Behavioral Health and Pastoral Care at Esperanza Health Center. Les served with her husband, Curtis, for 23 years in mission work in London, England; Gwanda, Zimbabwe; Managua, Nicaragua and Bogota, Colombia. Ms. Book studied at Messiah College and has a Masters of Art in Missions from Ashland Theological Seminary and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She believes that we only can receive deep heart healing through relationship with God through Christ and recognizing our “belovedness” in Christ. She enjoys her urban garden, designing and sewing clothing for her family, international cookery and reading.

Ms. Book works at the Kensington, Fifth Street and Hunting Park locations.

Daria Chacón, MD

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician

Daria Chacón, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Chacón completed medical school at the Temple University School of Medicine in 2007. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2011. Dr. Chacón sees patients at our Kensington and Hunting Park locations.

Charlene Chen, MD

Family Medicine Physician

Dr. Charlene Chen joined Esperanza’s staff in 2013 as a Family Medicine Physician. Dr. Chen received her medical education at Jefferson Medical College and completed her residency at Crozer-Chester Health System in Delaware County, PA. Her husband, Daniel Chen, MD serves as an Internal Medicine Physician at Esperanza. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and eating with her husband and their friends — their home is always open to anyone with a hungry belly! Dr. Chen sees patients at our Kensington location.

Daniel Chen, MD

Internal Medicine Physician

Daniel Chen, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine Physician at Esperanza Health Center. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Chen joined Esperanza Health Center in 2012. In his free time, Dr. Chen loves to cook and enjoys a good musical. He is thankful for the opportunity to serve God and our community by sharing His love through medicine. Dr. Chen sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

Christina Chong, MS, RD, LDN, CDE

Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator

Christina Chong, MS, RD, LDN, CDE is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at Esperanza Health Center. She received her Masters of Clinical Nutrition from the University at Buffalo and completed her Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences and Education at Cornell University. Ms. Chong is from Newark, Delaware and now lives in Hunting Park. She attends Renewal Presbyterian Church of West Philadelphia. She had opportunities to travel to Venezuela, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic for missions work, and is grateful to now serve full-time here in North Philadelphia. She enjoys reading, scripture meditation, and cooking/sharing meals with others. Ms. Chong sees patients at our Kensington location.

Sarah Danford, MSN, CRNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Sarah Danford, MSN, CRNP is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Health Center. Ms. Danford joined Esperanza in 2016 after completion of her Masters in Nursing degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Ms. Danford has significant experience working with disadvantaged communities in several countries including Ethiopia, Malaysia, Mexico and El Salvador. She previously worked as a medical assistant and nutrition educator with a federally-qualified health center serving Hispanic immigrant farm workers in Oregon. Ms. Danford serves in a leadership role with her church congregation, Citylight Church in Philadelphia. In her free time, she enjoys finding unique recipes to cook with her husband, spending time with her nephews and hiking with her dog Luna in the Wissahickon. Ms. Danford sees patients at our Kensington site.

Keri Duggan, MSN, PNP-PC

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Keri Duggan, MSN, PNP-PC is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Health Center. She is a graduate of Wheaton College and the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree. After having completed one of her preceptorships for graduate school in Philadelphia in the summer of 2015, Ms. Duggan fell in love with the city and decided to return to join Esperanza’s clinical team in 2017. She is eager to serve her patients and their families and to learn from them. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, reading, playing lacrosse, and spending time with family and friends.

Diane Filter, RN, CRNP, MSN, MPH

Family Nurse Practitioner, Associate Medical Director - Quality Assurance

Diane Filter, RN, CRNP, MSN, MPH is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Associate Medical Director – Quality Assurance at Esperanza Health Center. Ms. Filter completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2002 and Master of Public Health degree in 2003 at Columbia University. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2009. Ms. Filter sees patients at our Kensington location.

 

Ramon Gadea, MD, AAHIVS

Infectious Disease Specialist

Ramon Gadea, MD, AAHIVS joined Esperanza’s staff in 2015 and provides specialized care for infectious diseases. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Gadea is a graduate of Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, PR. Dr. Gadea previously served as a physician at Esperanza; he served as Esperanza’s Medical Director from 1996 to 2000, and was director of Esperanza’s HALOS HIV care ministry from 2000 to 2004. He is thankful for the opportunity to again be a part of Esperanza’s team and to provide care to the people of the North Philadelphia community.

K. Pamela Garcia, MD

Internal Medicine Physician

Dr. Pam Garcia is a board-certified family medicine physician, who began her career as a hematology/oncology nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is an AOA graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine, and the family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Garcia joined Esperanza in 2015. She enjoys swimming, kayaking, taking part in adventures with friends, the student-run community clinics in southeast Philly, and the JFMA book club. She is also active with Tenth Presbyterian Church’s Medical Campus Outreach, mentoring students and supporting residents. She seeks to continue learning from her patients, friends and colleagues about medicine, faith, and healing, building relationships that promote well-being and joy. Dr. Garcia sees patients at our Hunting Park site.

Mai-Khanh Gunther, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant

Mai-Khanh Gunther, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza Health Center. She has a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey and a Bachelors in Sociology from Grove City College. She first discovered a passion for inner-city work while living in Camden, NJ, and doing children’s ministry. She also gained rich experience from volunteering at an orphanage in Mexico. Ms. Gunther is thankful to work alongside Christian brothers and sisters to promote physical and spiritual healing through Christ. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching anything dramatic, eating ethnic food, and spending time with old and new friends. She also loves singing, being creative, and laughing. Ms. Gunther sees patients primarily at our Hunting Park location.

Randal Hirsch, MD

Family Medicine Physician

Randal Hirsch, MD is a board certified Family Medicine Physician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Hirsch completed medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1983. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2005.  Dr. Hirsch sees patients at our Kensington and Fifth Street locations.

Bryan Hollinger, MD, MPH

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician, Medical Director

Bryan Hollinger, MD, MPH is a board certified Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician and Medical Director at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Hollinger completed medical school at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1988. He received his Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Global Public Health in 1994. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 1994. He enjoys enjoy biking, birding and camping with his family.

Timothy Johnston, MD

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician, Hunting Park Site Medical Director

Timothy Johnston, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician and Hunting Park Site Medical Director at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Johnston completed medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1996. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2006. Dr. Johnston sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

Dr. Johnston enjoys playing trombone and piano, camping, reading, and biking. He likes growing and tending the yard….and playing peek-a-boo with his daughters. He delights in recruiting patients to be his partners in encouraging them towards health. He is committed to remaining as current as possible in the science of medicine, but also wants to help his patients be wary of some ways in which current science unwittingly moves patients away from true health. As a limited man who is weak, he is earnest to seek the power and direction of Jesus Christ in leading patients toward health as well. His favorite piece of Scripture is Psalm 69:13; “But as for me, my prayer is to you, O LORD. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.”

Jane Jue, MD, MSc

Internal Medicine Physician

Jane Jue, MD, MSc is a board certified Internal Medicine Physician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Jue completed medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 2004, and holds a Master of Science in Health Policy Research from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Jue sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

She is married and has a daughter and a yellow lab. She and her family are active members at Tenth Presbyterian Church.

Roanna Keener, MS, RDN, LDN

Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist

Roanna Keener, MS, RDN, LDN is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist at Esperanza Health Center. A native of Lancaster County, she has been interested in healthy and delicious food for as long as she can remember. Ms. Keener resides with her family in Port Richmond, where they serve with The Block Church. She often bikes to work, and loves to teach the monthly cooking class and helps to manage the small Esperanza garden.

Tara Kinra, MD

Pediatrician

Tara Kinra, MD is a Pediatrician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Kinra joined the Esperanza staff in 2013 after completing her residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Kinra attended medical school in Galveston, TX at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she is thankful to have been part of a bilingual church which helped her become fluent in Spanish. She loves traveling, being outdoors, listening to music, meeting new people, and learning new things. Dr. Kinra sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

Ana Lapp, RN

HIV Lead Care Coordinator

Ana Lapp, RN serves as Esperanza’s HIV Lead Care Coordinator. She had the joy and privilege of growing up as a missionary kid in El Salvador, Central America. After returning to the U.S. for nursing school, she worked as an ER nurse at Lancaster General Hospital for seven years. However, after attending a medical missions conference several years ago, God clearly led her to join Esperanza’s HIV Care Team as a nurse. As Ana shares about her experience during her time at Esperanza: “I’ve come to know the deep joy and awe of watching God save people’s lives – as He changes people’s hearts and lives before my very eyes.”

Laura Layer, MD

Pediatrician

Laura Layer, MD is a board certified Pediatrician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Layer completed medical school at Vanderbilt University Medical School in 1987. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 1991. Dr. Layer sees patients at our Kensington location.

Through her church, Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, she enjoys involvement in the Global Outreach Committee, Medical Campus Outreach, and mentoring. She also participates in neighborhood activities especially through serving on her condo board. Her favorite verses of scripture are Isaiah 55 and 2 Cor. 5:16-21.

Timothy Leaman, MD

Family Medicine Physician, Kensington Avenue Site Medical Director

Timothy Leaman, MD is a board certified Family Medicine Physician and Kensington Avenue Site Medical Director at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Leaman completed medical school at the Temple University School of Medicine in 1998. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2001.

Dr. Leaman sees patients at our Kensington Avenue location.

Dr. Leaman enjoys ethnic restaurants, reading, and following the Philadelphia sports teams. Dr. Leaman’s approach to medicine is to help people and communities to experience health and well-being physically, emotionally and spiritually. He desires to see those who live in our communities stay healthy, so that they can participate in restoring/rebuilding our neighborhoods (Isaiah 61:1-4; “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord…They will restore the places long devastated”). Dr. Leaman is married—he and his wife have three children.

Christopher Leander, MD

Pediatrician

Christopher Leander, MD is a board certified Pediatrician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Leander completed medical school at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2006 and residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in 2009. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2009. Dr. Leander sees patients at our Hunting Park and 5th Street locations.

Dr. Leander enjoys biking, running, reading, and playing virtually any sport with kids who are willing to play. His favorite piece of scripture is 2 Corinthians 4:16-18: “Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” He and his wife, Katie, have two daughters and a son. His approach to medicine is to build relationships with children and families and look for ways to promote healthy growth and development: help to “bring out” the image of God in which they were created.

Sueihn Lee, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant

Sueihn Lee, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza Health Center. Ms. Lee received her Bachelors in Psychology in 2003 and her Masters in Social Work in 2004 at the University of Pennsylvania. She also received her Masters of Divinity degree from Alliance Theological Seminary in 2011. She joined Esperanza Health Center in July 2013, having heard from her neighbors about the compassionate care they receive there. She is passionate about walking alongside others through inner healing by experiencing holistic expressions of the Gospel – spiritual transformation, social justice, and encountering truth. Ms. Lee seeks patients primarily at our Hunting Park site.

Amy Liao, DDS

Dentist

Amy Liao, DDS is a licensed Dentist at Esperanza Health Center. She completed her DDS in 2009 at the University of Michigan. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2009. Ms. Liao sees patients at our Kensington Avenue location.

Ms. Liao is a Canadian-born Taiwanese-American from the Detroit area. She grew up speaking French, English and Taiwanese. She likes it when her patients and co-workers teach/correct her Spanish. She also likes it when her patients and co-workers floss and brush their teeth every day. She enjoys working with the entire health care team at EHC in promoting improved health and quality of life of individuals and families.

Griszel Long, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant

Griszel Long, LCSW has served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza since 2016. She has over 12 years of experience in both direct and administrative leadership roles in a variety of behavioral health settings. Her goal is to support the emotional wellness of individuals, children/youth, and families through a collaborative, respect based approach that seeks to honor and glorify the name of Christ. Ms. Long sees patients primarily at our Kensington site. When not at work, she enjoys reading, participating in independent professional development, as well as spending time with family.

Kristie Mast, MD

Family Medicine Physician

Kristie Mast, MD is a board certified Family Medicine Physician at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Mast completed medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1996. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2001. Dr. Mast sees patients at our Hunting Park location.

Joel McIntosh, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant

Joel McIntosh, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza Health Center. He was born and raised in Lima, Peru, living there until the age of 17, after which he moved to the U.S. for college studies. He received his Bachelors in Social Work from Messiah College (2006) and Masters in Social Work from Temple University (2011). His areas of professional interest include spiritual integration to depression and trauma recovery, multicultural practice, social justice and health behaviors. He enjoys biking, gardening, home renovation projects, spending time with his wife, Stacy, and most anything that gets him more time in the sunlight. Mr. McIntosh sees patients at our Fifth Street location.

Tabitha Miller, RD, LDN, CDE

Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator

Tabitha Miller, RD, LDN, CDE is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at Esperanza Health Center. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in dietetics at Olivet Nazarene University 2004 and her dietetic practice experience at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, IN, in 2005. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2006. Ms. Miller sees patients at our Fifth Street location.

She and her husband David met in Guatemala in 2005 while she was completing her language training to work at Esperanza. Since that time they have seen God guide and direct them to the place they are now with David on staff at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia and her working and ministering with the Esperanza community, promoting health and wellness. Her theme passage for her life is 1 Thess. 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands, just as we taught you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”

Daniel Norris, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Behavioral Health Consultant

Daniel (Dan) Norris, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza Health Center. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University in 1981 and his Doctor of Psychology degree from Indiana State University in 1989.  He has worked as a psychologist in a variety of settings over the past twenty-five years with a special interest in long-term psychotherapy, marital therapy, and provision of mental health services in low-income areas.  Dr. Norris and his wife have worked for years with engaged and married couples in the church setting. Hiking, photography, and spending time with family and friends are areas of interest in his time away from work.

Faith Pullinger, M.D.

Obstetrician/Gynecologist

Dr. Faith Pullinger is a board certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist who joined Esperanza’s staff in 2016. A graduate of Grove City College, she completed her medical training at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA and her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Abington Memorial Hospital. She spends her free time watching her new baby grow and discovering God’s creation. Dr. Pullinger’s favorite activities include singing, running, and hiking as many mountains as possible, preferably doing all three with her husband by her side. She thanks the Lord for opening doors to be able to provide comprehensive women’s healthcare at a Christian clinic like Esperanza.

Robert Reich, PA-C, MPAS

Director of Care Management

Robert Reich, PA-C, MPAS is the Director of Care Management and is also a certified Physician Assistant at Esperanza Health Center. He received his MS in Physician Assistant Studies from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in 2000. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2000.

Kristin Romeo, MSN, CRNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Kristin Romeo, MSN, CRNP is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Health Center. Ms. Romeo is a graduate of Rice University and Thomas Jefferson University, where she received her Masters degree in Nursing. She joined Esperanza Health Center in 2014. Ms. Romeo sees patients at our Kensington location.

While serving in the Peace Corps in an indigenous village in Ecuador, she saw the effects of healthcare disparities there, which led her to pursue nursing. Ms. Romeo has also served with Doctors Without Borders in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Honduras. Things she enjoys include eating her grandmom’s homemade ravioli, reading all kinds of books, and spending time with family.

Kirstin Sanborn, D.O.

Family Medicine Physician

Kirstin Sanborn, D.O. joined the Esperanza staff in 2015 as a Family Medicine Physician; she holds a second board certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. She is a graduate of A.T. Still University/Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, MO and completed her residency and fellowship at St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx, NY. Dr. Sanborn lives in Norristown, PA with her husband and two puppies and enjoys running, playing soccer, playing board games and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Sanborn sees patients at our Kensington location.

Stephanie Senyo, PA-C, MPAS

Physician Assistant, Specialty in OB/GYN Healthcare

Stephanie Senyo, PA-C, MPAS is a certified Physician Assistant at Esperanza Health Center with a specialty in OB/GYN health care. She received her MS in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2005, and completed an OB/GYN Physician Assistant Residency Program in 2006. She has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2010. Ms. Senyo sees patients at our Kensington location. A mother of two, Ms. Senyo enjoys running, swimming, and reading. Her favorite piece of scripture is Psalm 139. She has a passion for women’s healthcare and health education.

 

 

Jillian Smith, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Jillian Smith, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC joined Esperanza as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2017. Ms. Smith earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, and is a cum laude graduate of Covenant College. She is thankful for the opportunity to serve on the Esperanza team: “I want to live my faith boldly and I see those as Esperanza doing just that. I have every confidence the Lord will give me the grace to do the work he has planned for me here, whatever that may be.” In her free time, she enjoys running with her dog, Shea, hiking, food and traveling, and is a member of Crossroads Community Church in Upper Darby, PA.  Ms. Smith sees patients at our Kensington site.

Heidi Sykora, LSW

Licensed Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant

Heidi Sykora, LSW is a Licensed Social Worker and Behavioral Health Consultant at Esperanza Health Center. Originally from Minnesota, Mrs. Sykora spent the majority of her formative years in Papua New Guinea where her parents were missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators. After attending college, she found her passion for service while working as a full-time volunteer at a house of hospitality for undocumented migrants in El Paso, Texas. She enjoys getting creative in the kitchen, mastering the art of cross-stitch, and adventuring in the great outdoors. Mrs. Sykora is grateful for the opportunity to make God’s love tangible as she strives to learn from and serve Esperanza’s patients.

Sister Oanh Vo, ACJ, MSN, BSN, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner

Sister Oanh Vo, ACJ, MSN, BSN, FNP-C, Family Nurse Practitioner, received her BSN degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston School of Nursing and her MSN degree from the Villanova University College of Nursing. Prior to joining Esperanza in 2017, Sister Oanh worked as a medical-surgical critical care nurse and has been volunteering since 2013 at Community Volunteers in Medicine, a free community clinic in West Chester, PA. Sister Oanh is a member of Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, an international Catholic religious congregation. She hopes to be an instrument of Christ’s mercy and healing to each person she encounters at Esperanza.

Alex Wade, MD

Pediatrician

Alex Wade, MD is a board certified Pediatrician with Esperanza Health Center. He graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Esperanza in 2012, Dr. Wade practiced pediatrics for six years in Crescent City, CA as a member of the National Health Service Corps. His personal interests include teaching youth and youth ministry, playing the violin, and running. Sarah Wilson, D.O.

Family Medicine Physician

Sarah Wilson, D.O., Family Medicine Physician, is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her internship and residency in family medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Ehrling Bergquist Clinic at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE. Before joining Esperanza in 2017, Dr. Wilson served with Affinia Healthcare, a federally-qualified health center in Saint Louis, MO. Dr. Wilson shadowed at Esperanza in 2006 while attending medical school, and she is excited to return to the North Philadelphia community to serve at Esperanza. She and her husband have three young children, and love to spend evenings with friends, family and neighbors.

Sharon Yang, CRNP, MSN

Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner

Sharon Yang, CRNP, MSN is a board certified Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Health Center. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and most recently worked as a medical oncology nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Yang joined Esperanza Health Center in 2012. She sees patients at our Kensington Avenue location. Her husband, Chung, is originally from Costa Rica and serves as the Hispanic ministry pastor at Antioch Church in Philadelphia.
