Susan Post, DMin, MBA
Executive Director
Susan Post has served as Executive Director of Esperanza Health Center since 2005 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Esperanza’s daily operations. Susan’s health care management experience includes over 20 years in the area of health care administration, having served in key management positions within a major health system in New York City and with a local community hospital. Susan lives in the community served by Esperanza, and is familiar with the needs associated with the area’s predominantly Latino population. Susan earned her Doctor of Ministry in Urban Ministry and MA degrees from Westminster Theological Seminary, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. She currently serves on the Boards of CCHF, the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) and Ayuda Community Center.
Susan’s joy has been to live and worship in her Hunting Park neighborhood in North Philadelphia.

Bryan Hollinger, MD, MPH
Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Medical Director
Bryan Hollinger, MD, MPH is a board certified Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician and Medical Director at Esperanza Health Center. Dr. Hollinger completed medical school at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1988. He received a MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Public Health in 1994. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 1994.
Dr. Hollinger sees patients at our Kensington Avenue and Hunting Park locations.
He enjoys enjoy biking, birding and camping with his family.

Richard Rohrer
Operations Director
As Operations Director, Richard has direct responsibility for non-clinical day-to day operations including Legal functions, Facilities, Medical Office staff, Dental program, Dental staff, and on-site Pharmacy Dispensing. Richard earned his JD degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and his BA from Temple University. Richard has found it particularly meaningful to work in a context where he can work with a team of professionals to bring health and restoration – physically, emotionally and spiritually – to the communities that we serve. Richard lived in Mexico City for a year and a half where he learned to speak Spanish. Richard is married and he and his wife have 3 children. Richard enjoys gardening, hiking, cycling and spending time with his family.

Erik Davis
Finance Director
Erik Davis joined Esperanza as Finance Director in September 2011. Prior to coming to Esperanza, he worked as a financial administrator at Westminster Seminary. He served as the treasurer of Esperanza’s board before joining the staff. He and his family worship at New Life Presbyterian Church in Glenside, where he has served as a deacon. Erik’s hobbies include gardening, landscaping, exercising, and following the Phillies. A favorite Scripture passage is Philippians 2:1-11.

Leslie Book, LCSW
Director of Behavioral Health and Pastoral Care
Leslie (Les) Book, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Director of Behavioral Health and Pastoral Care at Esperanza Health Center. Les served with her husband, Curtis, for 23 years in mission work in London, England; Gwanda, Zimbabwe; Managua, Nicaragua and Bogota, Colombia. Ms. Book studied at Messiah College and has a Masters of Art in Missions from Ashland Theological Seminary and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She believes that we only can receive deep heart healing through relationship with God through Christ and recognizing our “belovedness” in Christ. She enjoys her urban garden, designing and sewing clothing for her family, international cookery and reading.
Ms. Book works at the Kensington, 5th Street and Hunting Park locations.

Andrea Daft, RN, BSN, CPN
Director of Nursing
Andrea Daft, RN, BSN, CPN received her BSN from the University of Virginia and later obtained her certification as a Pediatric Nurse. She has served at Esperanza in the role of Head Nurse for 16 years. Andrea developed a love for the Hispanic people and culture while a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador. She also came to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior in Ecuador. One of the many gratifying aspects of Andrea’s work at Esperanza is developing relationships with our gifted Medical Assistants and Nurses and seeing them grow both professionally and spiritually. Andrea also has a heart for people around the world to know of Jesus’ deep and abiding love for them and has participated in many international missions trips to South America and Africa.

Juan “Tony” Gonzalez
Fifth Street Office Administrator and Human Resources Manager
Tony Gonzalez joined Esperanza as Fifth Street Site Manager and Human Resources Manager in December 2008. Prior to coming to Esperanza, he was a project manager for a construction company and led a martial arts ministry out of a local community church for several years. He studied Video Production at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and has a strong interest in film, photography, and design. He and his wife grew up in North Philadelphia and have a strong desire to see growth and development in the Hispanic community. God has used Colossians 3:23-24 in shaping his character: “What ever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men”.

Ty Gott
Office Manager - Hunting Park
Ty Gott joined Esperanza Health Center in the role of Office Manager – Hunting Park in September 2011. She is a native New Yorker with 10 years’ experience in the healthcare field, and holds a B.S. degree in International Business. Ty and her family currently attend church in Northeast Philadelphia where the Lord has placed upon their hearts to pursue urban mission, as their desire is to see the Gospel transform lives.

Cassandra Jackson
Human Resource Director
Cassandra Jackson is responsible for talent acquisition of staff employees, training and development, and policy compliance. Cassandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in Career Development from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She completed doctoral work and clinical internship in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Louis University. Prior to coming to Esperanza, she was an administrator at Temple University providing academic support to students and directing the Professional Development Work-Study Intern Program. She has several years of experience providing counseling and community development programming in North and West Philadelphia.
She and her husband came to Philadelphia to do urban missions, and she is excited about seeing God transform communities one person at a time. Her favorite verse of Scripture is Psalm 138: 8 “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever-do not abandon the works of your hands.”

Rachel Kim
Assistant Director of Community Health and Wellness
Rachel assists in managing various community and health education initiatives housed under the Community Health and Wellness department. She received her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Covenant College and later received her MA in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Rachel grew up in Mexico and has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2009. With a background in community development and counseling, she enjoys building relationships with staff, patients and community members, walking together towards healing, hope, and wholeness found in Christ alone.

Ana Lapp, RN
HIV Administrator
Ana Lapp, RN serves as Esperanza’s HIV Program Administrator. She had the joy and privilege of growing up as a missionary kid in El Salvador, Central America. After returning to the U.S. for nursing school, she worked as an ER nurse at Lancaster General Hospital for seven years. However, after attending a medical missions conference several years ago, God clearly led her to join Esperanza’s HIV Care Team as a nurse. As Ana shares about her experience during her time at Esperanza: “I’ve come to know the deep joy and awe of watching God save people’s lives – as He changes people’s hearts and lives before my very eyes.”

Sandra Lopez, RN
Head Nurse, Hunting Park
Sandra Lopez, RN is the Head Nurse at the Hunting Park site. She holds a Master of Science in Criminology and a Masters degree in Education. She currently serves as the Outreach Minister for the First Church of the Nazarene, a multi-cultural church in the North Philadelphia area. Prior to coming to Esperanza, Ms. Lopez worked as a Community Health Nursing Supervisor with the Lee County Health Department of the Florida Department of Health, and later as a Registered Nurse Consultant for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. She has found a home in the ministry of Esperanza by combining her passion for evangelism and a holistic approach to healthcare.

Stephen Ortiz
Director of Information Technology
Stephen Ortiz presently serves as Esperanza’s Director of Information Technology. In this position, he is responsible for oversight of all areas of health center-wide information technology, including the health center’s electronic medical records (EMR) system, internal computer hardware and software systems, telecommunications systems, and management of key vendor relationships. During his first four years with Esperanza, Stephen worked in the finance department, including the position of Finance Director. Stephen grew up in the community served by Esperanza, and has nearly 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry prior to joining Esperanza. Stephen earned an MS degree from MCP-Hahnemann University and a BS degree from Temple University. Stephen ended his 5 year commitment on the Board of Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF) in 2009, is currently the President of the Consortium for Latino Health and a member of the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA).

Isabel Ou
Assistant Finance Director
Isabel received her BS from the Pennsylvania State University and later a MEng degree from Cornell University. She has been with Esperanza since Nov 2009. She grew up in southeastern China and then immigrated to Philadelphia with her family. She is very thankful to God for her chance to hear the gospel and to accept Jesus Christ as her personal savior in this new land. It has been both an honor and a privilege for her to be part of what God is doing through Esperanza. She enjoys God’s creation in nature, as well as learning about different cultures and peoples that God has brought to her
life.

Robert Reich, PA-C, MPAS
Physician Assistant, Director of Community Health and Wellness
Robert Reich, PA-C, MPAS is a certified Physician Assistant at Esperanza Health Center. He received his MS in Physician Assistant Studies from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in 2000. He has worked at Esperanza Health Center since 2000. In addition to patient care, Mr. Reich serves as Esperanza’s Director of Community Health and Wellness, and also directs the health center’s Community Health Promoter program.
Mr. Reich sees patients at our 5th Street, Kensington Avenue and Hunting Park locations.

Ted Voboril
Development Director
Ted Voboril serves as Esperanza’s Development Director. He oversees all of Esperanza’s fundraising activities, grant writing, public relations, and the areas of marketing and communications. Ted holds an MBA with a certificate in Health Services Management and a B.A. from Duke University. His past experience includes positions in marketing and market research in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. He is thankful for the opportunity as development director to serve with Esperanza’s dedicated staff and to advance Esperanza’s mission. He and his wife are members of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as running, cycling and playing his violin, especially bluegrass and folk fiddle music.
