Esperanza Health Center, a faith based bilingual primary care health center ministry in Philadelphia, seeks a full-time Dentist.  The Staff Dentist is responsible for providing clinical dental services and preventive dental care in a community health center setting.  The Staff Dentist supervises the dental assistants and dental hygienists of the community health center in the absence of the Lead Dentist.

Esperanza Health Center, a faith based primary health care clinic in Philadelphia seeks a full-time Behavioral Health Consultant to serve as a member of the primary care provider team providing brief, immediate behavioral health support and interventions as part of integrated primary care services. Esperanza Health Center seeks a full-time Clerical Assistant.  The Clerical Assistant is responsible for registering patients’ demographics, insurance, and financial information into the EMR prior to service.  Clerical Assistants utilize insurance websites or directly contact insurance companies to verify eligibility and to confirm provider assignment.  Other responsibilities include preparing fee tickets prior to clinical visit, notating all issues concerning insurance problems or missing documentation.

Custodial Specialist

Esperanza Health Center seeks a part-time Custodial Specialist. The Custodial Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly state of the premises of Esperanza Health Center. Additional responsibilities include maintaining environmental services equipment and supplies; performing cleaning and custodial tasks, participating in seasonal maintenance projects such as snow removal and landscaping. Evening and weekend availability is required. This position will report to the Environmental Services Supervisor. This position is part-time, 15 hrs/week in the evenings.

Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services

Esperanza Health Center, a faith based bilingual primary care health center ministry serving the Latino and underserved communities in Philadelphia, seeks a full-time Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services. The Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services (BH/SS Director) leads the behavioral health and social services teams to facilitate fully-integrated care that meets patients’ physical, behavioral, and social needs within Esperanza’s holistic primary care model, providing program oversight to ensure attainment of clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity in compliance with program goals and contracts.  Managerial duties for behavioral healthcare include establishing clinical practice policy; supervision of behavioral health consultants; case conferencing; creating and reviewing treatment plans as needed; development of in-service training on evidence-based treatment modalities; management of annual budget; and collection and analysis of data for quality improvement, grant writing and evaluation. The BH/SS Director is also responsible for collaboration with clinical, administrative, and community health departments within Esperanza as well as various community providers to ensure holistic care. The BH/SS Director is a working leader who provides patient care as a clinical practitioner, practicing evidence-based treatment modalities and appropriate documentation. The BH/SS Director also supervises the Social Services and HIV Care team, focusing on patients’ social needs to prevent barriers to care and providing oversight of program development, budgets, and grants management. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with clinical, department, and administrative staff throughout the Health Center.  This position will be available starting in August of 2017.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social work or doctoral degree in psychology
  • Licensure in Pennsylvania (or eligible for PA licensure) in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

Director of Information Technology

Esperanza Health Center, a faith-based primary health care clinic based in three Philadelphia locations, seeks a full-time Director of Information Technology.  The Director of Information Technology is a member of the management team, working to ensure that the technology infrastructure at Esperanza supports our mission to provide high quality primary care services for the North Philadelphia community.  The position is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions, including the existing medical records platform, network and telecommunications infrastructure, applications, and development of new technological solutions to improve operational efficiency.  The Director of Information Technology provides leadership, vision and management to the IT staff and works collaboratively with the management team to develop the annual IT forecast and budget.  Applicants must be able to analyze a wide range of business needs and recommend cost-effective technical solutions.  The Director of Information Technology is a working leader, ensuring responsive service and end-user support. Responsibilities include ensuring the consistency and maintenance of existing technology; overseeing the development, design and implementation of new technology solutions; directing and prioritizing the work load of IT staff; and maintaining a high level of service to end users by establishing and enforcing organization standards for software, hardware, and networking. The Director of Information Technology will share the on-call (after-hour) support responsibilities of the IT department, providing remote desktop support to the organization’s end-users. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for ensuring the continual functioning of mission critical operations; maintaining the security and privacy of the information systems, communications lines and equipment; and developing, reviewing and testing all back-up and disaster recovery plans and procedures.  Position becomes available Summer 2017.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business-related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years’ management and leadership experience in Information Technology; health care experience preferred. Experience in managing a multi-site Microsoft Windows environment. Prior experience in a not-for-profit organization is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in information technology planning and budget management.
  • Experience in project management and change management processes; planning and implementing technology solutions that meet or exceed organizational strategic goals.

Food Service Worker/Driver

Esperanza Health Center seeks a part-time Food Service Worker/Driver.  The Food Service Worker/Driver is responsible for providing healthy food options for the patients, staff and the general public connected to the clinic community.  The Food Service Worker/Driver performs the food preparation, customer service and kitchen sanitation tasks. Additional responsibilities include driving and purchasing goods and supplies; stocking café supplies; operating the cash register; monitoring the functioning of equipment; and opening and closing the café for operation depending on the shift. Must use own insured car; and will be reimbursed for mileage. This position is 23 hours a week.

  • High School Diploma/GED and one year professional experience in commercial food preparation, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be ServSafe certified or be willing to obtain at own expense within 90 days of employment

Group Fitness Instructor

Esperanza Health Center seeks Group Fitness Instructors, possessing varying group exercise certifications.  The Group Fitness Instructor will provide group class fitness instruction for patients and community members. Areas of interest include classes for children and youth fitness, teen fitness, senior fitness, family fitness, martial arts, dance, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates or other specialty areas. The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for preparing and leading group fitness classes, and may also be responsible for registering new participants and processing payments when necessary.  Hours will depend on your certifications and our program needs.

Esperanza Health Center, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant will serve as a member of the Medical Assistant team providing support of the clinicians and in the provision of safe and whole person care to our patients. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing adults and children for exams and assists adult practitioners and pediatricians. They will address the needs of walk-in and call-in patients; help make arrangements for needed follow up. The Medical Assistant may also perform phlebotomy, cover the dispensary role, tend to orderliness, cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms between patient visits; assist in organizing storage areas; and nurture the spiritual growth of team members and patients.

Esperanza Health Center seeks a full-time OB/GYN Coordinator.  The OB/GYN Coordinator will be an integral part of Esperanza Health Center’s obstetrics and gynecological team.  The OB/GYN coordinator will manage the Centering Pregnancy program and have administrative and clinical responsibilities for the department.   Responsibilities include recruiting patients for the Centering Pregnancy program and performing follow-up, organizing and facilitating patient groups, serving as an Esperanza representative to outside organizations in matters related to Centering Pregnancy, capturing relevant data and tracking various outcome measures, providing walk-in pregnancy testing and care coordination, lactation support and various other responsibilities as assigned within the OB/GYN department.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, human resources, public health, social work, or other related fields, preferred

Dietitian (RD)

Esperanza Health Center seeks a full-time Dietitian (RD).  The Registered Dietitian is an integral member of the Care Management team, who will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of nutrition counseling among the patient population, accomplishing the goals set forth for disease prevention, and overseeing nutrition education initiatives.  This includes providing individual counseling sessions, collaborating with clinicians for Diabetes care management, organizing and implementing group sessions, assisting with clinic health department staff and tracking outcomes in regards to specific grants and general department and clinic goals.  This position is part-time, 24 hours/week until July 1st, 2017, at which point it will transition to full-time permanently.
